Hi I am Geordon Rendle, I have a Canadian Passport and a Latino heart, having lived in Colombia, Venezuela and Argentina for much of my life. When you ask me where I’m from, I celebrate that I am a Global Citizen! I am a Third Culture Kid (now adult!), having lived most of my life outside of my passport country; I love to help other multi-national teenagers find their place and potential in the world! My two favourite words are enthusiasm and adventure and I’m often described as “naturally caffeinated!” I am a heart leader; compassion is always my first step. In this Year of Tolerance, I have had the privilege of working with the Ministry of Tolerance in pioneering their Champions of Tolerance programs.
I have a Masters in Leadership and a BA in Criminology and was a police officer in Victoria, Canada. I now serve with Youth for Christ, the world’s largest, faith-based NGO that works with teenagers. My roles have included Americas Area Director, President/CEO, and currently, Global Youth Advocate, speaking on behalf of teenagers all over the planet. I have visited 65 nations, summited Aconcagua (6962 metres) in Argentina, and am a keen swimmer, cyclist and runner – having participated in multiple Ironman races, including the Dubai Half Ironman earlier this year.
I met my wife, Marilyn, while singing in a Teen Choir in 1984 and we’ve been happily dating ever since! We were married in 1987 and we have four children and a daughter-in-law. Our two teenage girls, Jolyn and Joy, live with us here in Abu Dhabi and attend Raha International School. As co-preneurs, Marilyn’s and my passions are to mobilize leaders, particularly teenagers, – engaging, equipping, and empowering them to bring hope to this generation wherever they live. Three of my heroes are Malala, Phiona Mutesi (the “Queen of Katwe”) and YOU!!! I’m looking forward to seeing you at MEYE!
